Middlemore Critical Care Complex is based in South Auckland New Zealand and is part of a unique and dynamic organisation where every day is different and exciting! For a health career packed with benefits, you won't find much better than at Middlemore. We are unique in terms of the diverse population we serve and the medical challenges we face.

We are a friendly and motivated team with strong values in flattened hierarchies, kindness and providing world-leading intensive care centred around patients and their whaanau. If you are interested in working with us, we welcome enquiries below.

Nurses in the critical care complex have a large variety of patients they could take care of on any given day. They can care for patients in both the ICU and the HDU. As nurses gain experience they will get exposed to caring for more complex patients including burns and children. We offer a supportive environment where our nurses can gain knowledge, experience and confidence whilst caring for patients, with the aim that all our nurses will become qualified critical care nurses.

Our popular ICU fellow positions are suitable for ICU trainees in their transition year (final year), or trainees/fellows from other specialties who are looking for additional intensive care experience in a senior role. We have an excellent and challenging case mix, and fellows work on the consultant roster with supported autonomy.

Auckland is New Zealand's most diverse and most populous city, nestled on one of the world's best harbours. It offers a metropolitan lifestyle mixed with the great outdoors; from cafes and restaurants to our stunning beaches, parks and marinas providing a beautiful natural landscape that Kiwis are proud of.

The New Zealand government has recently announced a new pathway for nurses and doctors who immigrate for work to apply straight away for permanent residency. Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand also provides useful information on moving to New Zealand.
