We are a unit with a strong focus on education. Each month, we run whole-day teaching for our registrars, senior house-officers and nurses. The topics are varied and cover the breadth of intensive-care subspecialties, including paediatric intensive care.

Consistent with our belief in the non-heirarchial team approach to critical care, our education days include specific in-situ simulation scenarios that have the whole ICU team working and learning together. We use a team-based resilience model for debriefing these simulations allowing us to translate simulation into real practice.
